The CV

CV TOP TIPS

A CV summarises your skills and experience, giving you the chance to show an employer what you are capable of. Employers will usually ask for a copy of your CV at some point in the recruitment process, so it is a good idea to keep it up to date. A good CV will help you to stand out from the crowd and get you a job interview.

We asked some local employers what skills they were looking for in a candidate. We also asked them what makes a good CV. Their advice will help you when you are putting your CV together. Watch our video below to hear what they had to say.

Getting Started

It isn't always easy knowing where to start with writing your CV. Before you start typing it out, it is a good idea to reflect on everything that you have achieved. Include any area of your life where you have developed skills, for example, work experience, a summer job, volunteering, school, college, club or team sports.
