John Bean Technologies Corporation (JBT) is a leading global technology solutions provider to high-value segments of the food processing industry. We design, manufacture, test and service technologically sophisticated systems and products for customers within the food manufacturing industry throughout the world.
What will I learn?As a JBT Apprentice in Logistics & Procurement your duties will include;
•First 12 months will cover the SCQF Level 5 Freight Logistics
•12-24 months will cover the Procurement Level 3
•24-48 months will cover the enhancement course CIPS Level 2 in Procurement and Supply
Typical duties while at Work include:
•First 12 months will primarily be supporting the Logistics team with the receiving and distribution of goods to the Production area, inventory and using the ERP system
•12-24 months will largely be focused on supporting the Purchasing Team by placing orders, updating the ERP system with the relevant data, customer calls and any other buying and procurement work. The successful apprentice will shadow the buying team on all areas.
•The final months will be an accumulation of both to provide all round support
What qualification or qualities are required?
You’ll have a head start in this vacancy if you’ve completed a Foundation Apprenticeship in a related field. We’ll need you to provide evidence of your qualification and show you gained the relevant skills from your placement
The ideal JBT Apprentice will have:
At least one of the following
•Higher level maths and English
•SCQF level 5 Supply Chain Management
•SCQF level 5 Warehousing and Storage
•Skills for work at National 5 or Intermediate Level 2
•Experience of working in Supply Chain Management and /or Procurement
As well as
•Strong IT skills when using a variety of Microsoft Packages
•A desire to want a long-term career as a Buyer, Contract Officer, Contract Analyst, Stock/inventory controller/planner
•Good communication skills to ultimately liaise with colleagues and tutors
•An interest/understanding of technologies and engineering
In return, you will receive a starting rate dependant on age & qualifications, which is paid on 23rd each month with any overtime paid at enhanced rates.
Your working week will be Monday to Thursday 07:00am till 15:30pm and Friday 07:00am till 13:30pm.
There will be a mix of coursework carried out online and in-house training and development as part of the programme.
1st Stage Recruitment Process

After the closing date we will review all applications, selecting those who will progress forward to the 2nd stage which is an Aptitude & Situational Judgement Test.
3rd Stage Recruitment Process
At this stage we will have selected the final candidates for interview. The interview will take place at our Livingston site and involve the hiring managers.
