We are a long established courier and logistics company which is continuing to grow and needs an enthusiastic, reliable assistant to work full-time in our Operations Department.
What will I learn?
This job offers a challenging variety of tasks and an opportunity to be involved in many aspects of a transport company. The position includes taking bookings by phone and email from customers and following up queries so an excellent telephone manner is essential. Good keyboard skills and knowledge of excel package are required to ensure speedy responses and professional reporting.
There are many aspects to this position including co-ordinating jobs with other members of the team, contacting drivers, preparing reports for customers and inter-action with other transport suppliers.
A hands-on, can-do attitude along with a keenness to progress would be encouraged and a good geographical knowledge of Scotland would be preferred.
What qualification or qualities are required?
You’ll have a head start in this vacancy if you’ve completed a Foundation Apprenticeship in a related field. We’ll need you to provide evidence of your qualification and show you gained the relevant skills from your placement Nat 4/5 in English / Maths minimum. Preferred Higher but not essentail
The successful applicant will preferably have previous experience in a call-centre or transport environment and will be able to demonstrate proven customer care and attention to detail.
