How we help

Helping Your Young Person Navigate Their Future

As a parent or caregiver, supporting your child through the transition from school to the world of work can feel overwhelming. With so many options available—college, university, apprenticeships, employment—it’s reassuring to know there’s no single “right” path. What matters most is finding the one that fits your young person’s strengths, interests, and goals.
We’re here to help you guide them with confidence.

What We Offer

We work closely with all secondary schools in West Lothian to connect students with employers and real-world experiences. Our aim is to make career pathways clearer and more accessible by:
  • Organising work-based learning opportunities
  • Promoting apprenticeships and job vacancies
  • Delivering practical workshops on applications, CV writing, and interview techniques
  • Building strong links with local businesses to widen awareness of career options

Employer-Led Activities in Schools

We bring the world of work into the classroom through:
  • Class talks from professionals across industries
  • Skills sessions to develop key employability traits
  • Mock interviews to build confidence and readiness
  • Workplace visits for hands-on insight into different careers

Why It Matters

Early access to employers helps young people:
  • Make informed subject choices
  • Understand how their skills and interests relate to real job roles
  • See the connection between school subjects and career pathways
  • Build confidence, networks, and transferable skills
  • Learn about growing industries and future job opportunities

We’re here to support you in helping your child explore their options and take the next step with clarity and confidence.
