"Working with DYW has brought innovation, new talent and sustainability to our business." - Karina Glennie, Director of Human Resources, Dalmahoy Hotel

Dalmahoy Hotel has been working in partnership with DYW for 8 years.  It has been a fantastic platform for us in terms of attracting talent into the workplace.

We started out by offering work placements which energised our current workforce as well as creating a positive pathway into the industry for young people.  Later we got involved with schools directly, talking to students about careers in hospitality.  How it can be an alternative career path to university or a source of part time employment to help fund them through university.

We have also partnered with Career Ready for the past 8 years.  This has been very successful in creating opportunities for young people to have access to work and a mentor to support them on that journey.  Nourishing that young talent over a 4 week period, watching them grow in confidence and social skills is very rewarding.  It also brings innovation, new talent and sustainability to the industry.

60% of young people who attended either work experience or Career Ready have gone on to secure permanent roles at Dalmahoy, which is a fantastic outcome for them, their mentor and our business.
