Just Transitions Scotland is delighted to present our innovative "ZeroHero" programme, a series of pupil workshops crafted to revolutionise sustainability education in West Lothian schools. Our mission is to empower and tailor learning opportunities for under-represented communities, focusing on the transition towards net-zero emissions. According to a YouGov poll, 74% of UK citizens advocate for environmental sustainability to be a curriculum requirement. We agree. We aspire to bridge the gap between aspirations and practical actions, facilitating active contribution to the net-zero movement. Friends of the Earth research shows the UK's poorest communities are often the most affected by climate change yet are the least equipped to adapt. We address this disparity through our commitment to co-creation and flexibility in learning. Our approach isn't a one-size-fits-all model; we engage with clients to design learning experiences that are relevant and adaptable. Our unique position stems from our ability to offer targeted, co-created learning experiences, specifically aimed at enabling under-represented communities to contribute to the net-zero transition. Programme Details These workshops (optional credit-rated qualification at SCQF level 4) are crafted to inspire pupils about environmental sustainability and the importance of a net-zero future. The programme includes ten themed workshops, each encompassing actionable personal steps that promote active participation in the net-zero movement.
